Gals is a show about 4 foxy women over age 50 who used to be one of the hottest female R&B groups of the early 80s, Ladies of Essence. Fay, the boss of the group, became a first lady at church and started singing for the Lord after the group disbanded. Ava, very uppity and proper, married rich and became the Dutchess of Sardinia. Leona, environmentally conscious and spastically calm, is a single mother trying to put her son, Hunter, through college. Cleo, the youngest at heart, continued singing over the last 3 decades and won a Grammy in 1990, which she lets no one forget. Though Fay and Ava are sisters, and they’ve all been distant friends for over 30 years, their individual personalities are as different as night and day.
